Pieridae Energy, the proposed Goldboro LNG facility, and the compressor

Pieridae Energy, the company behind the yet-to-be-built Goldboro LNG facility, where Enbridge was supposed to send at minimum 50% of the gas coming through Weymouth, is now trying to shake down the Canadian government for financing.

Recently, opponents of the project wrote to Prime Minister Trudeau and a list of other leaders, asking them not to allow the Canadian government to finance the Goldboro LNG project. Pieridae Energy is now seeking legal action against the authors of the letter.

Enbridge attempts to delay FERC's recent briefing

Enbridge attempts to delay FERC's recent briefing

Enbridge is showing their desperation in a last minute effort to delay the briefing. We have an even better idea--FERC needs to give us the full rehearing. That should help ease Enbridge's heartburn, don't you think, Campers?

Background: On February 18, 2021, three of the five FERC commissioners voted to open up a briefing to examine our request for a rehearing on FERC’s final approval of Enbridge’s compressor station. FERC granted Enbridge final approval last fall. For more on this FERC decision and why it’s significant, read this piece from WBUR.

FERC opens brief to examine compressor station concerns

FERC opens brief to examine compressor station concerns

FRRACS would like to thank all of our members and allies who posted to the FERC docket asking FERC to grant our rehearing request. On Thursday, FERC opened the window for briefs to be filed on the docket in 45 days to address the issues shown in the announcement below. While this did not grant the rehearing, it is a step in the right direction.

FRRACS will be filing a brief and we will be pursuing our partners to file as well. Stay tuned, Campers!

Again, thank you for your participation in this--the squeaky wheel gets the grease!

Root cause analysis reports on 2 emergency shutdowns now available

Yesterday, we received the Root Cause Failure Analysis Report on both emergency shutdowns from Senator Markey's and Congressman Lynch's offices. Thanks to our elected officials for keeping tabs on this and for making sure that the true stakeholders in all of this remain as informed as can be.

FRRACS and our allies are going over this to be sure that it is accurate and that it makes sense as an explanation of the failures that Enbridge had BEFORE going online.
