Letter to Mayor Hedlund in response to deal with Enbridge

Mayor Hedlund announced last week that he accepted $10 million from Enbridge, and in turn, dropped all of the town’s lawsuits against Enbridge. We are very disappointed with this decision.

Our disappointment in the contract turned quickly to concern for our municipal partners. We were actually astonished that the Town of Weymouth, via the Mayor, did not consider the legal implications to all others involved in the most current appeal. Or did they? A question for the ages...and perhaps, for the Mayor.
