Action Item: Make 3 Calls to Stop the Compressor

Last Tuesday we received the draft Release Abatement Measure Plan from TRC, Enbridge's environmental engineers. This Plan is the proposal for the clean up of the contamination on the proposed compressor site.

On page 27 of the report, we found this statement:
8.15 Implementation Schedule The anticipated schedule for the commencement of construction activities is November 1, 2019, with a September 1, 2020 in-service date.

We are unclear as to how they plan to undertake construction without yet having the proper permitting, without having the permanent plan, and without fulfilling first the public comment period that currently ends on October 15th with the answers to those comments due on November 15th.

What can you do? Make 3 Calls Today!

Call Governor Baker at 617-725-4005, DEP Commissioner Martin Suuberg at 617-292-5536, and Secretary Katie Theoharides at 617-626-1000 and ask them:

  • How can construction begin without the proper permits?

  • How can construction begin on a contaminated site without the final Release Abatement Measure Plan?

  • How can construction begin before the promised safety and risk evaluation reports and coastal resiliency report have not been done?

The public meeting on this Plan is scheduled for Wednesday September 25, 2019 at the Abigail Adams School beginning at 7:00. We hope you will join us for this most important meeting.
