TRC Releases Draft Plan for Contamination Clean up

IMPORTANT EVENT NOTICE: There will be a Public Involvement Plan (PIP) meeting on Thursday, October 10 from 7-9pm to discuss the ongoing contamination issue at the proposed compressor station site. The meeting will be held at Abigail Adams Middle School in Weymouth (89 Middle Street). We need your help to pack the room!

Background: We filed a PIP petition a few years ago with MassDEP to request clean-up of oil contamination at the site. The purpose of the meeting on 9/25 is to present TRC's Release Abatement Measure (RAM) plan. MassDEP defines a RAM as "a voluntary remedial measure taken to totally clean up small problems, or reduce the magnitude of larger problems." TRC, as you may remember, Enbridge's consultant.

The draft RAM Plan is available here (PDF). You can also access it on MassDEP's website here: (https://eeaonline.eea.state.ma.us/portal#!/search/wastesite) under RTN 4-0026230. Paper copies are available at the Tufts Public Library at Pratt (1400 Pleasant Street, East Weymouth, MA) and the Weymouth Board of Health (Town Hall, 75 Middle Street).
