FRRACS Community Fall Fest - Oct. 21

FRRACS Community Fall Fest - Oct. 21

This fall FRRACS will be hosting a community festival in the park next to the proposed compressor station. If the compressor station does get built, we could lose access to the public park that sits along the Fore River Basin. We will gather to celebrate the park and all that we have accomplished thus far in the fight against the compressor station. We hope that you will join us in this celebration.

A special thank you

It has been a very long two and three quarters years! The latest stay on the Waterways permitting warrants us taking a moment to thank all of you who have fought so long and hard to get to this point. Recognizing that it ain't over, we would still like you all to know that the Fore River Residents do not take your hard work, focus, and dedication for granted.

CZM Issues Another 6 Month Stay

CZM Issues Another 6 Month Stay

Nearly a year ago today, Coastal Zone Management (CZM) issued a one year stay on their review of the compressor station. They explained that they needed to obtain more information from Spectra, before they could conduct a review. That decision was issued on August 3, 2016. Today they have announced that they will be extending the stay by six months. This is excellent news, and will continue to hold up the project. You can read the letter here or below.

Industry Supporters Rag on Activists and Gov. Baker

Industry Supporters Rag on Activists and Gov. Baker

Marcellus Drilling News (MDN), a pro-industry website and newsletter, complained about Gov. Baker's response to our concerns about the compressor station. MDN often name-calls activists and members of the public for their efforts to oppose the expansion of fossil fuel infrastructure; this week they took aim at us. It doesn't bother us, in fact, it shows that our organizing is working and that we're getting under the skin of the gas industry.

You can read an excerpt of the piece below or the MDN site. You have to have an account to read the full piece.

Compressor Station Gets National Coverage

Compressor Station Gets National Coverage

Governor Baker's response this week has caught the attention of news outlets across the country. But don't be fooled, the fight is far from over. Breaking his silence on the compressor station and making the request for health assessment is a good step, but it's not enough. He needs to speak out against the proposal AND he needs to visit the site, like many of his colleagues have.
