Attorney General Healey to meet with Enbridge this week

Last week, Enbridge announced that they would be placing their compressor station in-service on January 25, the same day that their original certificate from FERC was set to expire. Their timing seems a little suspicious to us… The compressor had been off for 3 months while PHMSA (Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration) were conducting an investigation as to what caused an emergency shutdown of the compressor back in September. PHMSA announced on Friday (January 22) that they had completed their review but did not release the details of their review, including the root cause analysis of the shut down.

Fast forward to today, January 28, when Margaret got on the air with Attorney General Maura Healey during the broadcast of Boston Public Radio. Margaret asked AG Healey if she had any information about Enbridge’s announcement that they would be turning the compressor station on, despite the fact that PHMSA has not released their root cause analysis. The AG said she would be meeting with Enbridge this week and would update date us (and the public) as to what she learns. We will follow up with the AG’s office if we don’t hear anything soon. (Thank you, Margaret, for connecting with the AG again!)
