Important emergency phone numbers and contacts

With the recent accident at the compressor station, we know that you are all very anxious.  We find that the best cure for anxiety is to have a plan.  In this case, in order to have a plan, you will need to have some emergency numbers in your tool kit, and we are happy to give you a few right now.

Please put these into your cell phone, computer, or just tack them up on a wall near a phone--whatever works best for you!  We are beginning with local numbers and moving on to Enbridge and State numbers, depending on what the situation is.  Here goes:

For all real emergencies that require quick help always dial 911

  1. Weymouth Fire Department business line  781-337-5151

  2. Weymouth Police business line  781-335-1212

  3. Quincy Fire Department dispatch line   617-376-1011

  4. Quincy Police business number  617-479-1212

  5. Braintree Fire Department business line  781-843-3600

  6. Braintree Police Department business line  781-794-8600

  7. Department of Environmental Protection Complaint  888-304-1133

  8. Algonquin Gas (Enbridge) emergency line  800-726-8383

  9. National Grid emergency line (gas) 800-233-5325

  10. Enbridge complaint line  888-331-6553

  11. Town of Weymouth Mayor's Hotline  800-335-8606

  12. Councilor Rebecca Haugh  rebeccahaugh@weymouth.ma.us

  13. Councilor Pascale Burga  pburga@weymouth.ma.us

We urge you to keep Enbridge's emergency line handy as after calling 911, that should be your next call if you are in a safe place.  If you are not in a safe place, call 911 and have an emergency plan to leave your home.

We have asked for a meeting with the Mayor and the Town's emergency personnel in order to find out what the safety and evacuation plans are for the North Weymouth area and beyond.  We will keep you posted on that.

In the meantime, always feel free to contact your councilor (we've listed Becky and Pascale here because they are your North Weymouth contacts) so that they are kept in the know about any issues with the compressor station--or anything else you have in mind!  For instance, today we had many, many reports of an acrid smell around East Weymouth, North Weymouth, and Quincy.  We don't know what it was, but your councilor should be notified along with the fire department in cases like this.

And don't forget to sign up for Code Red in Weymouth, Alert Quincy in Quincy, and Smart911 in Braintree.

We hope this helps you to feel safer and more in control while we continue to fight to end the operations of this dangerous compressor station.

Be safe and well, Fore River Campers!

In Solidarity and Resistance,
The FRRACS Team
