Community pushed back on TRC's soil clean up plan

TRC held a meeting last week to present their draft RAM plan, which is related to clean up plans of soil contamination at the site. Their presentation was focused more heavily on their construction plans, glossing over the serious contamination issues. They claimed that the project will have “no significant risk to the environment, public health, public welfare, or safety”. The crowd did not hold back when this statement was made.

There were many takeaways from the 3 and half hour meeting, but this is something we cannot stress enough — the disturbance and removal of 18k tons of arsenic laden soil is an enormous threat to public health from Weymouth to New Hampshire, where they plan to store it. The original Permanent Solutions Plan and Activities and Use Limitation said to leave it alone. TRC-- Totally Regulated Corruption-- an oxymoron at its finest.
