Mass DEP (Department of Environmental Protection) has completely abandoned its responsibilities by letting Enbridge proceed with their dangerous compressor station plans. On Wednesday, January 15th, the People’s DEP will be rallying to witness their ongoing destruction of the North Parcel and monitor for Enbridge’s continued violation. If you believe that the communities of the Fore River, our environment, and the climate need to be protected then come out to show Enbridge that the people will not turn a blind eye to their destruction.
The People’s DEP, made up of residents and allies, will be holding signs on both sides of the Bridge along 3A in Weymouth during rush hour from 7-9am. We will be parking at 352 Bridge Street (in Weymouth) beginning at 6:30am where folks can walk or be shuttled to the bridge for the rally. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS 3A near the bridge, the street is very busy and traffic is very fast.
The weather looks unseasonably warm (thanks to climate change) but keep an eye and dress comfortably. There will be a coffee table with donuts for everyone doing the job that DEP has been failing miserably to do.
If the lot fills up at 352 Bridge Street, there are two small lots on site that you can park at. See attached below.
