State House Standout

  • MA State House 24 Beacon Street Boston, MA, 02133 United States (map)

As you are aware, the full air quality permit was given to Enbridge (Spectra). We are headed to Federal Court along with the Town of Weymouth, the City of Quincy, and the Town of Hingham.

But in the meantime, we want to make sure that Governor Baker is reminded of a couple of things. He promised Mayor Hedlund that three studies would be completed before any permits were given. One of the studies was the highly discredited Health Impact Assessment. The other two? A study of safety and a study of coastal resiliency. Neither of those were done, nor have they ever even been started. And yet, Governor Baker's DEP issued the air quality permit.

We will be reminding Gov. Baker of this promises with a rally of a reading of his letter to Mayor Hedlund, songs, and chants. The rally will be for three days culminating around the possible release date for the Wetlands permit, the Waterways permit, and the Coastal Zone Management determination of consistency. We will meet outside of his office at the State House beginning an noon on Thursday August 1. We will continue at the same time on Friday August 2, and on our D-Day of Monday August 5th.
