MassDEP Public Hearing to Revise Waste Site Cleanup Regs

HELP US PACK THE ROOM ON MAY 23!

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) has prepared revisions to their Massachusetts Contingency Plan ("MCP", 310 CMR 40.0000). The MCP relates to regulations governing the notification, assessment, cleanup and closure of oil and hazardous material disposal sites. You can read their proposed revisions here.

We are trying to pack the room for the hearing that is taking place in Boston. Please join us on May 23rd if you can!

*Thursday, May 23 from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the DEP office in Boston - 1 Winter Street.*

MassDEP is accepting both written and oral public comment in response to their proposals.  Four public hearings will be held between May 20 - 29, 2019. If you cannot attend any of the hearings, you can submit written comments via mail or email. The public comment period ends July 19, 2019.

We need to be sure that MassDEP’s revisions will STRENGTHEN the regulations and will hold polluters accountable. You can read their proposals and submit comments in response.
