We who live in the Fore River Basin are keenly aware of the toxic legacy of the industrialization of our coastal home. Here at FRRACS we have heard story after story of cancers, asthma, and autoimmune disorders--many of these illnesses familial and generational.
FRRACS is undertaking a project to document the health stories of those who have lived with this issue. We will be working to collect your stories by video, by recordings, and by writing. We will be working to premier these stories at a very special meeting in the fall.
In order to let people know about this project, we will be canvassing in North Weymouth, East Braintree, Quincy Point, and Germantown on Sunday, May 6th from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. We are looking for volunteers to knock on doors and drop flyers.
Can you help us? We will meet up in the parking lot of the North Parcel (the proposed compressor site, 6 Bridge Street on the map) and give you flyers and a neighborhood assignment.
Send us an email at nocompressor@gmail.com if you can join us. We hope to see you then!
Important canvassing reminders:
- Do NOT put flyers in people's mailboxes! This is illegal. Please place flyers in the door.
- Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing
- Bring sunscreen, water, and some snacks
Flyers will be provided. See below:
