This Sunday, August 21, there will be solidarity vigils to support the 200+ folks fighting the Dakota Access pipeline in southern North Dakota. This large transmission pipeline would cross the Missouri river, just feet from the Standing Rock Sioux community's water intake in its run from North Dakota to Illinois. They've been fighting to stop the construction for some time now, facing off with armed security, standing in the way of machines, having restraining orders placed on them on their own land. 

As of Thursday, work on the pipeline was suspended "for the safety of the workers" because of protests blocking the work.

There will be a solidarity vigil on Sunday in Plainfield, that you are welcome to attend. If you cannot go in person, we encourage you to join our "virtual vigil." Details for both are below:

At the former Kinder Morgan proposed Pipe Yard site on Rte. 116 in Plainfield, MA - about a half mile east of South Central St. (try 162 East Main Street in your GPS).  

Simple stand-out vigil. Any signs on eminent domain for private gain, protecting water, FERC, #StandingRockSolidarity, #RezpectOurWater, #HonorTheTreaties, #NoDAPL, or the like are great!
